# PackAnalyst

> PackAnalyst measures card-rip sites and every pack they sell from their own public data: real odds, real value, net take-home, and the cash-out rules that decide how much of it reaches you. We sample the public "live pull" feeds that card-rip sites publish, record what actually came out of each pack, and compute the return per dollar spent. Affiliate-funded. Every operator runs through the identical pipeline with no editorial adjustment, and the method is public at https://packanalyst.io/methodology.

## What a card-rip site is

A card-rip site (also called a digital pack opener, rip site, or card gacha) sells a digital pack at a fixed price. Opening it reveals one real, professionally graded trading card, a PSA, CGC or BGS "slab", drawn from the operator's insured vault. The buyer then either has the physical card shipped, leaves it in the vault, or sells it straight back to the operator at a published "buyback" percentage of its estimated value.

Operators publish odds per value band, not per individual card. Whether those published odds match what actually comes out is the question this site exists to answer.

## What PackAnalyst does

- Samples operators' public pull feeds and records every reveal, cheap cards included.
- Ranks packs and sites on measured outcomes, never on an operator's own estimate.
- Lists the payout terms (how you get paid, at what rate, with what restrictions) as separate stated facts, never folded into the value figures.
- Computes one rating per operator from the same five criteria with the same thresholds for everyone: what comes back, getting paid, transparency, getting your card, getting started. No editorial score, no paid placement.

Revenue: some outbound links are affiliate links, marked as such wherever they appear. They never affect a rating or a ranking position.

## How to read our numbers

- **Typical rip**: The middle result. Half of the sampled pulls came back worth more than this, half less. It is what a normal opening looks like, which is why we rank on it.
- **Average**: All sampled pulls added up and divided by how many there were, jackpots included. One huge card can pull this number far above what you would normally see, so read it next to the typical rip, never instead of it.
- **Gross return**: What the cards were worth, before you turn them into money. Card value out, divided by what you paid in.
- **Net take-home**: What is left if you sell the card straight back to the site at its published buyback rate. Empty means the site does not publish a rate, so we will not guess one.
- **Buyback**: The share of a card's value the site pays if you sell it back instead of shipping it. Typically 80 to 95 percent, and usually against the site's own valuation.
- **Sample size**: How many real pulls a figure rests on. A few dozen can still swing a lot; a few hundred settle down. Every board shows the number.
- **Multiple**: How many times the pack price the card was worth. 1x means it came back exactly even, 2x means double what you paid.
- **House edge**: The share the operator keeps on average. Like any pack, the cards that come out are worth a little less than what everyone paid in, which is what pays for running the site.

Tiers run S+ (top, reserved for an exceptional site), then S, A, B, C, D, and are computed from the criteria above. An operator gets a tier as soon as it is measured at all; below 500 sampled pulls that tier is flagged provisional because the pull-based criterion can still move. Catalogue-only sites get sub-scores but no overall tier.
Where an operator does not publish a fact we write "Not stated" and drop that criterion from its rating rather than guessing a value.
